World Maritime Day puts practical safety at the centre

On World Maritime Day, IMO highlighted the need to implement international rules consistently, from national legislation to training and enforcement. The message comes as conflict and attacks on shipping disrupt trade and affect seafarers.

The campaign covers resilience, digitalisation, maritime security and environmental protection. It is an industry initiative, rather than a new universal surcharge or an announcement that all shipping routes have changed.
