Council approves customs reform and stronger platform obligations
The reform strengthens data coordination and platform responsibilities.
On 3 September the Council approved a customs framework overhaul. Non-EU platforms selling into the EU face clearer importer responsibilities for customs formalities, duty payments and product compliance.
A customs authority and data hub are part of a phased implementation. Sellers should prepare accurate descriptions, origin and product records before dispatch.
