How transport connects the journey
- 01 Pack
Choose packaging suitable for the contents and the transport mode.
- 02 Consolidate
Bring cargo to the departure facility and confirm the booking and cutoff.
- 03 Move
The main transport leg connects origin and destination; transfers may follow.
- 04 Hand over
Complete destination handling, clearance and the agreed final delivery.
What the service covers
An international express service usually coordinates collection, cross-border transport and delivery to the recipient. Its value is the connected service chain, not simply an aircraft flight. Select the actual product available for the destination postcode, then check parcel limits, goods acceptance and the evidence provided after delivery.
Follow the shipment
After booking, the parcel is collected or dropped off, sorted, exported, transported internationally, processed for import and handed to the delivery network. These stages may involve hubs or local partners. A tracking update shows an event; it does not automatically confirm customs release or readiness for the final delivery attempt.
Read the quotation
Read the quotation as separate questions: what transport is included, what extras may apply and who pays them? Ask about fuel, remote-area, size and special-handling charges where relevant. Clearance assistance does not itself mean that duties, taxes or every additional customs service is included in the freight charge.
A practical example
Suppose you send replacement parts in two cartons to a customer outside a major city. Give the provider both cartons' finished measurements, their contents and the exact postcode. Ask for the applicable service and possible surcharges together. Two offers are comparable only when their delivery scope and payment responsibilities match.
Avoid common mistakes
Do not describe goods only as samples, accessories or gifts: these terms do not explain their material or purpose. A familiar brand does not make its economy and express products interchangeable. Also distinguish an estimated delivery date from any specific contractual commitment, including the conditions that apply to that commitment.
Prepare before sending
Before collection, match the invoice, shipping label and actual contents, and confirm the recipient can answer clearance enquiries. Save the accepted quote and shipment reference. When tracking reports an exception, record the requested action and responsible person rather than repeatedly booking a new shipment or assuming the parcel is lost.
Before you ship
- Check the destination postcode.
- Confirm the payer of extra charges.
- Keep the quote and delivery record.
